[[Anatoly]] has been here for 2 weeks. He has put on weight, quite a lot of it, and goes hunting every day. [[Modest]] spent the entire summer without budging from his place in the country at [[Konradi]]'s. He hopes to make it abroad in the winter with [[Nikolay Konradi\|Kolya]]. I still don't know for certain where I'll go and what I shall do in winter. But, in any case, I shall be in [[Piter]] and will see you.		I have spent the summer most despondently. У нас дела идут следующим образом: Саша, как Вам известно, в Карлсбаде, и известия о ней, хотя невесёлые, так как она сильно страдала печенью и у неё вышли два огромных камня, но зато видно, что воды помогают ей и действуют. Нужно надеяться, что Карлсбад очень подвинет её к выздоровлению. Таня, слава Богу, в последнее время здоровее и бодрее. Вечная тошнота прекратилась, она порядочно ест, немного гуляет и вспрыскивания употребляет в ничтожном количестве. Всё остальные здоровы. Мальчики ездили с отцом и с Таней в Киев, держали экзамен и приняты в гимназию. Через три дня они совсем переселяются в Киев и будут покамест жить с учителем в гостинице. Остальное семейство переселится в Киев к 1-мy октября.

Я провёл лето очень невесело. Постоянные болезни Саши и Тани, доводившие иногда всех нас просто до отчаяния, отравляли жизнь в Каменке, а уезжать от них, когда в доме горе и слезы, мне не хотелось, и вот целое лето пришлось протянуть самым грустным образом. Анатолий здесь уже 2 недели. Он пополнел, очень поправился, ходит на охоту каждый день. Модест провёл всё лето, не трогаясь с места, в деревне у Конради. Надеется, что зимой попадёт с Колей за границу. Я ещё решительно не знаю, куда поеду и что буду делать зимой. Но, во всяком случае, в Питере буду и Вас увижу.

Обнимаю Вас и целую Ваши ручки, милая Лилиша! Очень кланяюсь Софье Мих[айловне], Ив[ану] Мих[айловичу] и всем Вашим.
