Отчего ты мне не посылаешь недостающих №№ 107 и 108 Бортнянского? Скоро они мне очень будут нужны {{*}}; очень неприятно будет после 12 «''Тебе Бога хвалим''» остановиться на несколько дней и потом снова ''хвалить Бога'' 2 раза тощими звуками Бортнянского. Эти «''Тебе Бога хвалим''», над коими я теперь ситу, приводят меня в отчаяние своей жалкой мизерностью, на в особенности тем, что все они друг на друга как 2 капли воды похожи; но у меня хватит терпения их докончить, только ''если не будет перерыва''; если же ты не пришлёшь мне вовремя №№ 107 и 108, то — вновь начать тянуть эту убийственную канитель у меня не хватит духа, и тогда придётся это поручить другому.

Извини, что обеспокоил тебя своей телеграммой, — но так пришлось.

Корректуры так и падают на меня с неба одна за другой. Знаешь что, голубчик. Я сделаю тщательную вторую корректуру первого выпуска (т. е. 4-голосные и 3-х голосные сочинения), сделаю первую корректуру тех однохорных концертов, которые я уже получил, — но затем, ради самого Бога, дай мне отдохнуть. ''Ей-Богу'', я могу, наконец, с ума сойти в этом океане бортнянщины. Пусть 1 и 2-ую корректуру всего остального делает кто-нибудь другой, а ты мне пришли уже только ''третью'' но окончательный просмотр; и притом не листами, а тетрадью. Я еду отсюда 1-го ноября на свадьбу племянницы в Киев. Свадьба будет 4-го ноября. Что потом сделаю, не знаю. Может быть, заеду в Москву.
