	[[Anatosha]], golubchik! For God's sake forgive me for not writing in much detail today. What's happening to me now is what always happens whenever a new composition draws to an end. I'm finishing off my [[Trio]] and I've decided, come what may, to be completely free by tomorrow, Sunday, and to go for a long stroll in order to rest. With this intent, I sat down today at 9 o'clock in the morning, and worked through without rising until 4 o'clock with such fervour that now I can't string two thoughts together. This unseemly haste at the end of a work always affects them adversely, but I cannot change my nature. Since today is your day, even though I'm tired I didn't want to miss a day, so that you wouldn't worry. We're all well, and all alone now that all the Kondratyevs have left. The first few days were sad without them, especially for dearest Emma. What a sweet creature she is. [[Modest]] received a letter today from [[Alina Bryullova\|Alina Ivanovna]]'s sister, who lives in Algeria, in which she pleads with him to come and live with them. Since living there will cost almost nothing, and the area is very beautiful, [[Modest]] wants to accept the offer. Perhaps I'll decide to go with them too. 	Анатоша, голубчик! Ради Бога прости, что напишу сегодня очень необстоятельно. Со мной теперь происходит то, что всегда бывает, когда новое сочинение приходит к концу. Я оканчиваю своё трио и решился, во что бы то ни стало, к завтрашнему воскресенью освободиться совсем и сделать большую прогулку для отдыха. Для этой цели просидел сегодня от 9 час[ов] утра, не вставая, до 4 час[ов], и с таким азартом работал, что двух мыслей связать не могу. Эта болезненная спешность в конце сочинения всегда сказывается в них невыгодным образом, — но не могу переделать свою натуру. Так как сегодня твой день, то, несмотря на усталость, не хотел пропустить дня, чтобы ты не беспокоился. У нас всё благополучно. Теперь мы одни, всё Кондратьевы уехали. Первые дни было грустно без них, особенно милейшей Эммы жаль. Какое это милое существо. Модест получил сегодня от сестры Алины Ивановны, живущей в Алжире, письмо, в котором она умоляет его приехать пожить у них. Я совершенно погрузился в своё трио. Меня занимает эта ещё мной не затронутая форма. Дня через 2 примусь за переписку и, как только будет готово, пошлю в Москву, а ты попросишь Танеева устроить исполнение его.

Жду от тебя с нетерпением известий из Москвы. Об киевском пребывании знаю всё по письмам Наты.
