Я ничего не имею против того, чтобы ты издал ''Гопак'' отдельно. Что касается «''Полтавского боя''», то это тоже было бы хорошо, но тут та помеха, что он написан для ''штатского и военного'' оркестра. Впрочем весьма возможно кое-что переиструмеитовать для концертов так, чтобы «''Бой''» мог быть исполняем одними штатскими. Это очень несложная работа, и ты можешь поручить её даже ''Бюхнеру'' или кому-нибудь в этом роде; есть также бывшие ученики Консерватории ''Ляпунов, Кленовский, Арендс'' и т. п., которые это могут сделать. Если же хочешь, чтобы я сам это сделал, то подожди моего приезда, — сюда присылать партитуру не стоит, да к тому же я занят сюитой и не хочется отрываться. Я думал, что печатать необходимо переложение в одно время с партитурой — оттого и отдал первую часть Баталиной; если она может в скором времени окончить переложение, то не отбирай партитуры, в противном случае уполномочиваю тебя на время отнять рукопись. Остальные части переложу сам. Сомневаюсь, впрочем, чтобы к ноябрю могло быть все это напечатано, и лучше не буду на это рассчитывать. ''Эрдмансдёрферу'' напиши, пожалуйста, что я согласен совершенно, чтобы сюита шла в его концерте. Имей в виду, что для исполнения одного № сюиты нужны ''4 аккордеона в 10 клапанов в строе E-dur''.
