Дела мои денежные в этом сезоне бесконечно хуже того, что я ожидал; к тому же Юргенсон нанёс мне одну большую денежную неприятность (расскажу при свидании), ну, словом мне для моего путешествия нужно ''очень, очень'' много денег, и очень хотелось бы не выкупать билетов, а лишь заплатить новые проценты. Мне страшно совестно перед тобой, но я думаю, моя душечка, что ты можешь ещё потерпеть полгода. Толю прошу на меня не сердиться. Разумеется, я застрахую на будущие тиражи. В тираж твои билеты ''1-го займа не попали; выигрышу на них тоже не было''. С Юргенсоном у меня очень холодные отношения, и вследствие того мне неприятно у него жить, когда бываю в Москве. Но что же делать! Из твоих самых близких никого в этот приезд ''не видел''. Алексеевых на ''Третьяковском'' обеде почему-то не было.

Не бойся, что, испугавшись завалов, я отложу свою поездку к Вам, и ответь мне насчёт ''Военно-Грузинской'' дороги; я во всяком случае, так или иначе, 12 марта выезжаю.
