Moreover, due to [[Mary]]'s intended trip to Crimea that didn't take place, she agreed to go to Crimea with ~~smoe~~ Stolpakovs, and the latter were charmed by her and persuaded her to stay with them on the most favourable terms. 	After the last letters from ''[[Antonina Ivanovna]]'' that you know about, there was (despite the strictest prohibition) another one, in which she informs me that she has three children, ''all in the Foundling Home'', one of which it seems was named Pyotr in my honour, and she proposes I take all or one of them into my care (???). Besides this, she sent me an embroidered shirt and asked me to ''dedicate'' something to her. Complete, utter madness. But, still, she behaves herself like a lamb. Thank God, she's left, having taken a decent sum from [[Jurgenson]].		After the last letters from ''[[Antonina Ivanovna]]'' that you know about, there was (despite the strictest prohibition) another one, in which she informs me that she has three children, ''all in the Foundling Home'', one of which it seems was named Pyotr in my honour, and she proposes I take all or one of them into my care (???). Besides this, she sent me an embroidered shirt and asked me to ''dedicate'' something to her. Complete, utter madness. But, still, she behaves herself like a lamb. Thank God, she's left, having taken a decent sum from [[Jurgenson]].

Я теперь пришёл в хорошую полосу для работы; успокоился от разных мучивших меня причин, стал совершенно здоров, и работается очень хорошо, — боюсь прервать работу. Но, во всяком случае, приехавши в Уколово, если там меня не будет, спроси депешей, приеду я за тобой или буду вас ждать здесь? Разъехаться мы не можем. Я перестал хандрить, стал ощущать большие наслаждения от прогулок, стал снова проникаться прелестью каждой травки и каждого облачка, и одиночество нисколько не мучительно для меня. Тем не менее с величайшим удовольствием буду ожидать вас в Майданове. Лишь бы только погода благоприятствовала, — а то все дождь да дождь. С Анатолием и Парашей идёт оживлённая переписка. Они хотят, чтобы Эмм а к ним сейчас же приехала, а ей, кажется, не особенно хочется покидать раз навсегда Петербург. К тому же она из-за предполагавшейся, но не состоявшейся поездки Мери в Крым согласилась ехать в Крым же с некими Столпаковыми, и эти последние очаровались ею и уговаривают на самых выгодных условиях остаться у них.

После последних известных тебе писем ''Антов[ины] Ивановны'' было (несмотря на строжайшее запрещение) ещё одно, в коем она уведомляет меня, что у неё трое детей, ''все в Воспитат[ельном] доме'', один из них в мою честь, кажется, Петром назван, и она предлагает всех или одного из них взять мне на воспитание (???). Кроме того, прислала мне вышитую рубашку и просит что-нибудь ''посвятить'' ей. Совсем, окончательно сумасшедшая. Но, впрочем, держит себя агнцем. Слава Богу, она уехала, взяв порядочный куш у Юргенсона.

''Ипполит'' гостил у Ник[олая] Ильича и несколько раз с удивлением замечал, что ''Ж[орж] '' похож на Таню, а впрочем, ничего не подозревает.

Я думаю тебя поместить наверху, а ''Колю'' внизу. А впрочем, как хотите. Жду обстоятельного извещения о вашем выезде.
