Н[иколаю] Д[митриевичу] опять хуже. Вчера был опять ужасный день. Ничего не удавалось. Пота не было, несмотря на то, что его целый час жарили и мучили. Весь день Н[иколаю] Д[митриевичу] казалось, что мы все, а особенно ''Шустер'', виноваты в том, что его напрасно терзают. В этом тоне он сделал вечером сцену Шустеру. Тяжело ужасно все это видеть. И жаль его ужасно, и вместе неприятно видеть, когда он своё неудовольствие изливает в форме бесконечных сцен с ''Пиком'' или с кем-нибудь из других. Я считаю дни и часы, когда можно будет вырваться. [[Nikolay Kondratyev|Nikolay Dmitryevich]] is worse again. Yesterday was another terrible day. Nothing is going well. Despite the fact that he was roasted and tormented for a whole hour, he didn't perspire <ref name="note1"/>. All day [[Nikolay Kondratyev|Nikolay Dmitryevich]] supposed that all of us, and ''Schuster'' <ref name="note2"/> in particular, were guilty of needlessly tormenting him. To this effect he caused a scene with Schuster in the evening. This was all terribly difficult to see. I'm terribly sorry for him, and it's all the more unpleasant to see him pour out his displeasure in terrible scenes with ''Pik'' <ref name="note3"/>, or somebody else. I'm counting the days and hours until I can escape. Lord, how tired I am! Although, I'm completely well. <br />
