Я в глубине души решил, что ни в каком случае не поеду туда. Стороной я узнал, что туда лезут: ''Славянский, Бессель'' и вообще всяческая шваль. Бороться с ними я решительно не желаю. Да и вообще не хочу быть ''делегатом''. Но в официальных ответах прошу тебя моей личности не касаться, а прямо придираться к тому, что без субсидии мы, дескать, не можем. Господи, как я устал и как все это мне надоело.<br />

I forgot to reply to you regarding ''[[Paris]]'' <ref name="note1"/>. Please bear in mind that is absolutely impossible to give concerts there unless the French give us subsidies or guarantees. Deep in my heart I've decided that I won't be going there whatever happens. I happened to learn that ''Slavyansky, [[Bessel]]'' and all kinds of rabble are falling over themselves to be there. And I have no desire to be a ''delegate''. But I ask you to leave me out of your official reply, and to simply blame it on the fact that we can't do it without a subsidy. Lord, how tired I am, and what a nuisance this all is.<br />
