As you can see, the ballet has already been published in a piano arrangement, and the rights to use anything from it are contingent on my published [[Pyotr Jurgenson\|P. Jurgenson]]; but I am entirely certain that he would have no objection to including extracts in "New Time" — on the contrary, he will be very happy about this. Письмо Ваше я прочёл лишь поздно ночью, по возвращении домой. Не слишком ли поздно отвечаю Вам? Не сегодня ли хотели Вы поместить в «''Нов[ом] вр[емени] ''» страничку из моего балета? Если да, — то весьма сожалею, что не мог во-время ответить. Тем не менее поспешаю сказать Вам, что я очень благодарен Вам за честь, которую Вы хотели мне оказать. На случай, что ещё не поздно, посылаю Вам при сем «страничку» из балета. Как видите, балет в переложении для фортепьяно уже издан, и право на всяческое заимствование из него для печатного воспроизведения зависит от моего издателя П. Юргенсона; но я вполне уверен, что он ничего не может иметь против помещения отрывка в «Нов[ом] времени», скорее на против — он будет очень этому рад. ''Во всяком случае, это нарушение прав его я беру на себя''.

Посылаю Вам при сем клавираусцуг с указанием тех страничек, которые нахожу наиболее удобными для помещения в «''Нов[ом] вр[емени]''». Всего более подходящим считаю отрывок, находящийся на стр[аницах] 192-193.
