Рукопись кантаты в консерватории в Петербурге. Печатать её я не желаю, ибо это юношеское произведение без будущности; к тому же ведь она на текст «&amp;#039;&amp;#039;К радости&amp;#039;&amp;#039;» Шиллера. Соперничать с Бетховеном неловко.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
«&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Кузнеца Вакулу&amp;#039;&amp;#039;» давно бы следовало уничтожить. Отдельные же нумера продавать, конечно, можно, но таковых, совсем не изменённых, очень немного.&lt;br /&gt;
:1) Во 2-ом действии: антракт и сцена 4-я (я имею в виду нумерацию «&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Вакулы&amp;#039;&amp;#039;», а не «Черевичек»).&lt;br /&gt;
:2) В 3-ем действии антракт и хор русалок.&lt;br /&gt;
:3) В 3-ем действии &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Полонез, Менуэт, оба танцевальных нумера&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
:4) &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Дуэт Оксаны с Солохой («Кто говорит — утопился», и т. д.). &lt;br /&gt;
Вот и все. Все остальные, в том числе и увертюра, изменены.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Переложение «&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Вакулы&amp;#039;&amp;#039;» в 2 руки — увы — надо бросить.&lt;br /&gt;

Очень жаль, но одно могу сказать в твоё утешение, это что в судьбу «&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Черевичек&amp;#039;&amp;#039;» как репертуарной оперы я безусловно верю и считаю её по музыке едва ли не самой лучшей моей оперой...&lt;br /&gt;

В Петров день кутежа настоящего не было. По правде сказать, было скучновато. В четверг я приеду или приду к тебе из Москвы, где у меня дело есть. Буду стремиться к &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Соломенной сторожке&amp;#039;&amp;#039; и искать № 16.&lt;br /&gt;
