	I think that you and [[Sonya]] would be interested to know where and how I am, and therefore I'm hastening to inform you that I've returned home today. I sailed off from ''[[New York]]'' on 9/21 May and found myself at sea for a whole 7½ days. This voyage, just like the first one, was completely safe, although both were blustery. From [[Hamburg]] (I went by a German steamer) I travelled directly to [[Petersburg]], where I've been for 8 utterly pleasant days. Although [[New York]] treated me admirably, and although I saw much of interest in America, I was still terribly drawn to home, and I cannot express how happy I was to find myself back in Russia. Now I shall be immersing myself in work; I need to fulfil a promise to compose an opera and ballet for the 1892-93 season and, besides this, to write a few works I've had in mind for some time. What are you plans? Where will you be spending the summer, autumn, winter? How is your health? In August I want to visit [[Nikolay Tchaikovsky\|Kolya]] at ''[[Ukolovo]]''. Won't you come there too? Write or ask [[Sonya]] to write me the answers to these questions. [[Modest]], [[Bob]] and [[Aleksandr Litke\|Sanya Litke]] will be coming to me on 2nd July and staying for 2 days. As for [[Anatoly]] I know nothing; he's not replied to my letters or telegrams. He's probably on the way to [[~~Reval~~]]. I'm living at my old place in the village of ''[[Maydanovo]]''. My health is excellent. I hug you tightly, kiss [[Sonya]]'s hands, and clasp [[Tasya]] to my heart. Думаю, что тебе и Соне интересно знать, где и что я, и потому спешу тебя уведомить, что сегодня я вернулся восвояси. Из ''Нью-Йорка'' я отплыл 9/21-го мая и находился в океане всего 7½ дней. Плавание это, так же как и первое, было совершенно благополучно, хотя в оба раза была и трёпка. Из Гамбурга (я ехал на немецком пароходе) я прямо проехал в Петербург, где провёл 8 дней чрезвычайно приятно. Хотя в Нью-Йорке меня превосходно принимали, хотя я видел в Америке много интересного, но меня страшно тянуло домой и не могу выразить, до чего я был счастлив, когда очутился в России. Теперь я засяду за работу; мне нужно сочинить, согласно обещанию, оперу и балет для сезона 1892-93 г[оды]. и, кроме того, написать несколько давно задуманных сочинений. Какие у вас планы? Где будете проводить лето, осень, зиму? Как твоё здоровье? В августе хочу побывать у Коли в ''Уколове''. Не приедете ли и вы туда? Напиши или попроси Соню написать мне ответы на эти вопросы. Модест, Боб и Саня Литке приедут ко мне 2-го июня и пробудут 2 дня. Про Анатолия ничего не знаю; не отвечает ни на письма, ни на телеграммы. Вероятно, он на пути в Ревель.
