Милый мой Лёня! Очень я без тебя соскучился и со страхом думаю, что ещё целые при месяца тебя не увижу. Как-то ты здоров и как поживаешь? Я из Москвы уехал 27-го числа утром прямо в ''Низы''. Там я прожил всего три дни и потом поехал в Киев, где провёл одни сутки. Жара стояла ужасная, и я два раза купался в Днепре. На другой день сел на пароход и 4-го июня утром приехал сюда в Каменку совсем больной. Меня целый день трепала лихорадка, да так сильно, что и до сих пор не могу оправиться. Здесь я останусь две недели и потом поеду к сестре за границу. Я очень бы желал иметь от тебя письмо; если ты мне уже написал в ''Низы'', то мне письмо доставят сюда, а если ещё не писал, то напиши сейчас же и хорошенько перепиши мой адрес заграничный.<br />

My dear [[Lyonya]]! I've missed you so much and I'm terrified at the thought that I won't be seeing you for a whole month. How are you and what are you up to? I left [[Moscow]] on the 27th directly to ''[[Nizy]]''. I stopped there for three days in all and then travelled to [[Kiev]], where I spent one day and night. It was awfully hot, and I swam in the Dneiper twice. The next day I boarded a steamer and on the morning of 4th June I came here to [[Kamenka]] feeling quite ill. It took a whole day for the fever to break, and it was so severe that I still haven't recovered. I'm staying here for two weeks and then going to my sister abroad. I would very much like to have a letter from you; if you've already written to me at ''[[Nizy]]'', then the letter should be sent on to me here, but if you haven't already written, then write now and carefully copy my address abroad.<br />
