'Dear friend! This little letter will be handed to you by a nice compatriot of mine [...] a very good pianist, whom I recommend to your benevolent protection. The composer, who had stayed in Paris for a few days at the start of the year, hopes that his correspondent [...] will be so kind as to extend his support to the young artiste, Madame Shtos-Petrova, and thanks him in advance" (translated by Luis Sundkvist).</ref>
