Спасибо тебе, милый Алексей Иванович, за письмецо. Ох, стосковался я здесь, и только о том думаю, как бы к вам в Клин поскорей! И на кой черт я дал слово ехать в Одессу! Приеду я к вам около 27 января. Желаю вам всем хорошего года, а главное, чтобы ваш повелитель поменьше катался по заграницам, а то и ему и вам скучно. Интересно будет взглянуть, как Георгий Алексеевич теперь выглядит! Скажи Мод[есту] Ильичу, что я ему напишу из Парижа, где останусь 3 дня; здесь такая суета, что много писать не приходится. 10-го января 6уду в ''Одессе''. Адрес гост[иница] {{und2|Лондон}}.<br />

And why the hell did I promise to go to [[Odessa]]! I'll be with you around 27 January. I wish you all a good year, and most importantly, that your master takes fewer trips abroad, even if he and you are both bored. It will be interesting to see how Georgy Alekseyevich looks now! Tell [[Modest Ilyich]] that I shall write to him from [[Paris]], where I'm staying for 3 days; there's such a commotion here that I don't have the opportunity to write much.
