	At last I am back home! From [[London]] I went to [[Paris]], then onto [[Itter]] with [[Menter]], then to the south of Russia with my brother. This was very pleasant, but I am very glad to find myself in my own ''home'', particularly as I can now begin to work. Certainly my new symphony <ref name="note1"/> shall soon be ready, and I shall be very glad to conduct the same at the ''Philharmonic Society''. ''May would suit me'' very well. I should also be very flattered if [[Menter]] were to play something of mine in this concert, or, if you wish, I would be in a position to conduct her [[Ungarische Zigeunerweisen (Menter)\|Zigeuner-Fantasie]]. Endlich bin ich nach Hause zurückgekehrt! Von London bin ich nach Paris gegangen, dann war ich in Itter bei der Menter, dann in Südrußland bei meinem Bruder. Es war sehr angenehm, aber bin ich doch sehr froh, daß ich mich in meinem ''Home'' befinde und besonders daß ich arbeiten anfangen kann. Gewiß, meine neue Symphonie wird bald fertig sein und ich werde sehr froh sein, dieselbe in der ''Philharmonic Society'' zu dirigiren. ''Mai paßt mir'' sehr gut. Ich werde auch sehr geschmeichelt, wenn die Menter in diesem Concerte etwas von mir spielt, oder, wenn du willst, bin ich auch bereit, ihre Zigeuner-Fantasie zu dirigieren.

Über die delicate Bedingung-Frage möchte ich lieber nicht sprechen. Gewiß bin ich nicht genug reich, um Honorar abzusagen. Mache wie du willst. Jedenfalls muß ich sagen, daß ich die {{sic|beste|besten}} Erinnerungen von meinem letzten Aufenthalt in London habe und daß ich sehr, sehr froh sein werde, wieder dahin zu gehen und dich sehen. Also auf Wiedersehen, lieber Freund! Ich umarme dich. Beste, wärmste Grüße an Frau Berger.

I would prefer not to discuss the delicate matter of terms. Certainly I am insufficiently wealthy to be able to waive an honorarium.
