Сегодня я уезжаю на две недели в Киевскую губернию. Не пришлось мне побывать у тебя ещё раз после того несчастного случая, когда мы с тобой разъехались. С неделю тому назад я получил письмо от ''Пети'' с вложением письма к тебе. Так как письмо это, как я предполагал, было грустного содержания, то я написал Пете, во-1-х) прося его если можно помириться с дядей и тёткой, а во-вторых, спрашивая, необходимо ли нужно, чтоб я пересылал вам его письмо. Теперь я получил ответ. Он просит меня во всяком случае доставить письмо, что я и делаю.

Очень жаль, что вся эта история произошла, но я уверен, что все в скором времени разъяснится и что для Пети это будет хорошим уроком.

У меня к тебе большая прось6а. Хотел я вчера, по случаю верб купить маленькие подарочки твоим детям и отвезти, — но решительно не поспел это сделать. Будь так добра, мой Ангел, купи им что-нибудь на прилагаемые 10 р[ублей]. Я буду очень рад доставить им маленькое удовольствие.

I'm leaving today for two weeks in [[Kiev]] province. I haven't had the chance to visit you again after that unfortunate incident when we parted. A week ago I received a letter from ''Petya'' <ref name="note1"/> enclosing a letter from you. Since I presumed that the contents of this letter were unhappy ones, I then wrote to Petya, 1) asking if he could make peace with his uncle and aunt, and secondly, asking whether it was necessary for me to write to you via him. Now I have received a reply. He asks me to provide a letter in any case, which I am doing.
