	Dear [[Modya]]! When you receive this letter, I shall already be ''married''. Any day now, my wedding to ''[[Antonina Milyukova\|Antonina Ivanovna Milyukova]]'' will take place. This matter was decided at the end of May, but for the time being, I kept it secret, so as not to torment you and everyone close to me with uncertainty and doubts until the deed was done. Proof that I undertake this quite calmly and rationally can be seen in the fact that in the face of my impending nuptials I lived an entire month quite tranquilly and happily at ''[[Glebovo]]'', where I wrote two thirds of my opera. After the wedding, at which [[Tolya]] will be present, I shall go with my wife (how strange that sounds) to [[Piter]] for several days, then shall live with her until August, and in August I shall do some travelling, if there is enough money. I shall drop by at [[Kamenka]], but my main destination is ''Essentuki'', because I very much need to undergo some treatment. Милый Модя! Когда ты получишь это письмо, я уже буду ''женат''. На днях произойдёт моя свадьба с ''Антониной Ивановной Милюковой''. Дело это было решено ещё в конце мая, но я его покамест держал в секрете, чтоб не терзать тебя и всех близких мне неизвестностью и сомнениями до тех пор, пока факт не совершится. Доказательством того, что я приступаю к этому совершенно покойно и обдуманно, служит то, что ввиду близкого бракосочетания я прожил совершенно покойно и счастливо целый месяц в ''Глебове'', где написал две трети оперы. После свадьбы, на которой Толя будет присутствовать, я поеду с женой (как это странно звучит) в Питер на несколько дней, потом проживу с ней до августа, а август пропутешествую, если хватит денег. Заеду и в Каменку, но главная моя цель ''Эссентуки'', ибо мне очень нужно полечиться. Тотчас после приезда в Питер я тебе напишу подробно, а теперь времени нет. Хлопот бездна.
