Мне чрезвычайно досадно, что вследствие Вашего отъезда в Ревель мне не удалось лично познакомиться и побеседовать с Вами в Петербурге.

Так как по весьма многим причинам мне неудобно предложить Вам письменно те вопросы, на которые мне хотелось бы получить устный и притом очень обстоятельный ответ, — то я предпочитаю отложить удовольствие побеседовать с Вами до следующего моего приезда в Петербург, которое должно состояться в непродолжительном времени.

Покорнейше прошу Вас передать Вашему Батюшке мои извинения в причинённом ему невольно беспокойстве, а Вас прошу верить в чувства искреннего уважения Вашего покорнейшего слуги,
